The Thing Nobody Likes to Talk About.

Soldi, dinero, money, raha - it's a topic that remains "shh shh" 𤫠in many languages.
Everybody wants more of it, but nobody likes to talk how much and how they make it.
Unless, of course, you buy some 4-week course š.

I once sat down with a job seeker from the UK who was working as a teacher in Spain. Her first question to me was: "What am I doing wrong?"
She liked her job, but all she could see around her were other expats chilling at the beach, travelling around and enjoying life š¹ā±ļø.
Meanwhile, she was working regular office hours and could never ever afford that kind of freedom and lifestyle on her Spanish salary.
So...what's the secret behind the expat dolce vita?
āļøWelcome to the expat bubble, where you never really know the full story.

I remember a discussion in one Facebook group where somebody once asked: "I'm sorry, but I don't understand what a Digital Nomad means?"
And one guy whose comment went on fire š„ replied - "It's when your parents are paying your lifestyle".
True or not? Depends. But you never know the full story of someone's life abroad.
Somebody might:
Own an Airbnb back in their home country
Work remotely for a company in a country with higher salaries
Have a partner who earns considerably more
Have family support or savings
Work in IT (the classical explanation š)
And these resources can make life abroad much more comfortable and contribute to the "dolce vita" lifestyle we see on social media.
While you're left wondering what you're doing "wrong" with your 1700⬠salary.
So, if you want to know how to REALLY start making money abroad ..come and buy my š..
Haha, got you there!
I'd rather ask has living abroad given you the freedom you imagined, or has reality been something different? Let us know in the comments.
Have a great weekend and Happy Halloween! š
